Background

Originally, I come from the well-known tourist area Black Forest in southwestern Germany. In 2004–2007, I did an education as an industrial clerk at a world-renowned company in the woodworking industry, Homag Holzbearbeitungssysteme GmbH. After the education, I worked at the accounting department of the same company and in the sales department with export. After that, I studied at the University of Applied Sciences of Worms in the fields of International Business Administration and Foreign Trade as well as Tourism and Travel Management. I completed a Bachelor's degree with a major in Business Administration at Mid Sweden University in Östersund in 2012. Later I took my Master's degree in Business Administration at Mid Sweden University in 2013. After my Master's degree, I started working in the tourism industry in Norway and then I worked as responsible product vendor at a travel company and as head of department for tourism development and marketing at Freudenstadt municipality in Germany. Since summer 2017, I am doing a Ph.D. in Business Administration at Mid Sweden University in Östersund with a specialisation in long-term oriented development of smaller cities in Europe.

Research

My research is on how smaller cities develop long-term oriented, which are in the shadow of a famous destination. The research is from a business administration perspective.

Teaching and tutoring

I teach students at Bachelor C level in marketing, leadership and organisation theory. Moreover, I have been working with guiding Bachelor students in tourism studies.

I am responsible for the following courses in English and Swedish: Management and Organizational Culture (FÖ074G) and Relationship Marketing and Brand Strategy (FÖ109G). Furthermore, in Swedish for the following courses: Destination Development (TR069G), Destination Development and Sustainability (TR054G), Consumer Behaviour in Tourism (TR067G), Customer-Centric Brand Development for the Tourism Industry (TR073G).

Other information

During my previous job positions I was responsible for the apprentices and practical supervisor for the dual students.
