Salary adjustment for certain staff
To encourage high quality in its activities, Mid Sweden University rewards degrees in doctoral education, teaching qualifications and appointment as associate professor.
An important prerequisite for Mid Sweden University to have a continued favourable development is high quality in education and research, which is best guaranteed through continuous skills development for employees.
When assessing the right of colleges/universities to provide different educations, the competence of employees expressed in terms of the number of teachers with a doctorate and docent-qualified teachers is a central starting point. The availability of teachers with doctorates and/or docent qualifications is also of crucial importance for the development of research activities at the University.
Mid Sweden University rewards degrees in doctoral education, teaching qualifications and the attainment of docent qualifications for permanently employed staff as below.
- A licentiate degree will give you a salary increase of SEK 900 (permanently employed lecturer)
- Doctoral degree gives a salary increase of SEK 2,000 (permanently employed lecturer)
- Appointment as qualified teacher gives a salary increase of SEK 1250
- Appointment as excellent teacher gives a salary increase of SEK 1250
- Appointment as docent gives a salary increase of SEK 2500
Certificates/degree certificates are sent to the HR Department. The salary increase applies from the month after the graduation/appointment. Retroactivity longer than three months is not permitted.
