Temporary parental benefits
When you need to be free from work because you child is sick, you will receive compensation in the form of temporary parental benefits from Försäkringskassan.
When you are at home to care for your child (temporary parental benefits), you should inform your immediate department head/supervisor. You should also report the start and stop dates for the 'care of a sick child' (VAB) period in Primula and inform Försäkringskassan.
When free from work with temporary parental benefits, salary deductions are made for each day that the employee has not worked. If the individual is free for only part of their shift, a smaller deduction is made that corresponds to the length of the time off.
When an employee is on leave with temporary parental allowance, a salary supplement is paid for the part of that person's salary that is above the base price limit for a maximum total of 10 days per year, in accordance with the Villkorsavtalet agreement.
