Safety committee and safety representative
A safety committee is a consultation body between representatives of the employer and representatives of the employees.
Safety Committee
The health and safety committee participates in the planning of work environment management, monitors developments in health and safety issues and deals with issues such as occupational health care, action plans for work environment management, planning or changes to premises, working methods and organisation, use of hazardous substances, work environment training and rehabilitation.
Central Safety Committee
The Head of Administration is chairman of Mid Sweden University's central safety committee, where the dean of NMT and HUV, the chief safety representative, the HR manager, the respective trade union, student representatives are also represented. The Central Health and Safety Committee has a coordination responsibility for planning, coordination and goal formulation of the overall work environment management, information and training initiatives in the area of the work environment and issues relating to occupational health care. Furthermore, it exercises follow-up and supervision and initiates the necessary work environment measures at Mid Sweden University. The central safety committee is part of Mid Sweden University's central collaboration group.
Local safety committee
Work environment work is carried out locally in the local collaboration group, where employers and employees work together to achieve a good work environment. Issues that cannot be resolved at the local level must be brought to the Central Health and Safety Committee.
The safety representative
The safety representative acts as the employees' representative for both regular and temporary staff. Safety representatives are representatives in matters relating to the work environment and are appointed by the local trade union organisation. Read more about the role of safety representatives.
List of Mid Sweden University's safety representatives
The task of the chief safety representative is to coordinate the work of other safety representatives, provide information on issues relating to several safety areas and to represent other safety representatives in appeals against the Swedish Work Environment Authority's decisions.
