Strategic Co‑funding
If you win a competitive research grant, you might be eligible for 25% top-up funding from the funds of the vice-chancellor.
Mid Sweden University is supporting researchers that win funding in competitive calls by contributing an additional 25% top-up of the grant portion earmarked for Mid Sweden University from the vice-chancellor’s funds. Grants won from
- the Swedish Research Council (VR),
- Formas,
- Forte,
- Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (RJ),
- the Wallenberg Foundations,
- and Horizon Europe, the European Union’s framework program for research and innovation,
are eligible for this strategic co-funding. Note that for Horizon Europe, only calls under pillar 1 (ERC grants and Marie-Curie grants) and pillar 2 are eligible.
The purpose of this strategic co-funding is to provide a financial incentive to apply for competitive research funding. The funding will be allocated to the project leader’s department and may be used to fund research and research-related activities in a way decided by the project leader, the head of department and, if applicable, any other project members at Mid Sweden University. The strategic co-funding may not be used to cover indirect costs (overhead). Projects funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR), Formas, Forte, Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (RJ), Horizon Europe/H2020 (pillar 1 & 2), starting after July 1, 2020, are eligible. Projects funded by the Wallenberg foundations are eligible if they started after October 21, 2024. The grant proposal to the funding agency must clearly show Mid Sweden University’s role as a project partner as well as the (portion of) the grant budget allocated to Mid Sweden University.
