Now the spring semester has begun and both new and old students are starting to fill our campuses. In Östersund, the Welcome Day was arranged today, where the students were welcomed with a mini-fair.

Friskis & Svettis raffled off annual passes, Lindy Hop Östersund showed off their dance skills, Fritidsbanken talked about their business where they lend out sports equipment and many many more companies and organizations showed themselves and their activities to the participating students.

Moa Rudfjäll from Krokom and Ida Skott from Åsarna have just started studying at the social work programme and are coming from one of their first lectures. Now they take the opportunity to check out the fair.

"We'll check out what it is," they say.

They are on their third day as students at Mid Sweden University.

"It's exciting, and feels like a new step in life," says Moa.

"But it feels good," says Ida.

Opportunity to meet companies and organizations

Meiju Ruotsalainen is also a new student at Mid Sweden University and the social work programme. She has just moved to Östersund from Örebro.

"So far, it feels quite okay.

Now she has the opportunity to meet some of the new city's associations and organizations.

"That's good, I'll take the opportunity to walk around and check out the exhibitors now.

The welcome day is organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Mid Sweden University and the student unions in Östersund and Sundsvall together with a number of partners. On Thursday it will be held in Sundsvall.
