UKÄ gives the green light to quality assurance work
The Swedish Higher Education Authority has reviewed and approved Mid Sweden University's quality assurance work regarding education and research. This is announced by the authority in a recent decision.
"Of course, we welcome UKÄ's announcement and see it as part of our common endeavour to constantly develop and strengthen Mid Sweden University's activities. We have taken important steps forward in our quality work, but we are also humble about the fact that there is always more to do," says Vice-Chancellor Anders Fällström.
In its decision regarding research, UKÄ states that the university meets all the assessment areas developed by UKÄ. These are based on the Higher Education Act, the Higher Education Ordinance and the international guidelines for research formulated in the "European Charter for Researchers" and "Guidelines for the Recruitment of Researchers".
And when it comes to the area of education, the message is the same: Mid Sweden University now meets all the assessment areas developed by UKÄ. These are based on the Higher Education Act (1992:1434) and the Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100) as well as Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG), 20151.
"We have continued to work with all the recommendations made by the assessment group in its 2023 opinion, and the follow-up that UKÄ has now carried out is proof that our work has been appropriate," says Anders Fällström.
The next evaluation will take place according to UKÄ's plan, i.e. 2030.
