MIUN Survey Launch: Mid Sweden University’s Central Survey Tool
Mid Sweden University has introduced MIUN Survey – a new central survey tool for staff and, in the long run, also for students. The tool is secure, cost-effective, and brings together survey work in a common platform for support, templates, and quality monitoring.
Mid Sweden University has introduced a new central survey tool – MIUN Survey. The tool is provided by Sunet and is based on the Survey&Report platform.
The new system is designed to meet the needs of higher education and research and offers several key advantages:
Secure storage: All data is managed and stored in Sweden – in compliance with GDPR and Swedish regulations.
Cost efficiency: The system provides better control of license costs and eliminates expensive individual licensing solutions.
Centralized support: A common tool facilitates training, user support, template management, and quality monitoring.
The central survey tool can be used by all staff at Mid Sweden University. This means that teachers, researchers, and administrative staff all have access to a shared platform for creating and managing surveys. Eventually, students will also be offered the opportunity to use the tool.

Course evaluations
During the autumn semester of 2025, EvaSys will continue to be used for course evaluations at Mid Sweden University. This ensures continuity during the ongoing term and allows time for a smooth transition. Some course evaluation functions will change due to the shift to Canvas.
Changes affecting both teachers and students:
Students will no longer be able to respond via Moodle, as the LMS is being replaced and MIUN Survey will not yet be in use for course evaluations (except for a few pilot courses). Instead, students will receive a link sent to their email giving them access to the evaluations in EvaSys.
Teachers will no longer be able to add their own questions in Moodle (page 3 of the evaluation), view response rates, or access the final report in Moodle. They will also no longer be able to comment on the final report.
From the spring semester of 2026, course evaluations will be managed in the new central survey tool, MIUN Survey, which will gradually replace previous survey solutions at the university.
