Jenny Freéd has gone from life crisis and depression to becoming one of Sweden's foremost lecturers. At Mid Sweden University's outdoor day, she shares tools for strength, courage and development.

en vinna framför ett vattendrag

When Mid Sweden University invites you to an outdoor day on September 24 at campus Sundsvall, it will be with a guest who knows more than most about what strength can really mean. Jenny Freéd, 30, describes herself as a multi-entrepreneur – and that's no exaggeration. She is a weightlifting coach at national and elite level, a conversation therapist, masseur, lecturer, musician and opinion leader. Above all, she is a person who has gone through the darkness herself, to be able to show others that it is possible to find ways forward.

"I have gone from surviving suicide attempts to becoming one of the foremost lecturers in Sweden. My journey is about the fact that we all possess so much more than we think, even when hope feels lost," she says.

"Anyone can end up wrong"

Growing up in Kramfors, Jenny has moved around a lot, but today she divides her time between Stockholm and Sundsvall. She works all over Sweden and mixes experiences from her own life with professional tools to inspire others. Her lectures cover everything from public health and mental illness to economic equality, children's rights and men's violence against women.
"For me, it's important to show that anyone can end up wrong, it's not about who you are. But with the right tools, you can get back and build a new direction in life.

Daring to make decisions

When she lectures at Friluftsdagen, an hour filled with perspectives, exercises and personal stories awaits. The focus is on providing tools for personal development and the courage to dare to make decisions that strengthen the individual.
"I hope to inspire people who are at a crossroads, those who want to take that step but don't really dare.

Mental and physical strength

After the lecture, Jenny also leads a strength training session for anyone who wants to book in – an opportunity to take part in both her words and her practical knowledge. For her, physical activity is not just exercise, but a way to build self-esteem and mental strength.

Limiting yourself is not something Jenny believes in. She is a living example of how you can have many different legs to stand on: training trips, events, coaching at an elite level, lectures, music and a large social media platform where over 70,000 followers take part in her everyday life.
"I want to show that strength is not always about performance, but about daring to be yourself and stand firm when life is shaky.

When she takes the stage at Campus Sundsvall on September 24, it will therefore not only be about training, but about something much bigger – finding her way back to her own strength.
