What does your research data say? Are they complex and difficult to interpret?

Do you have a research question where new ways of analyzing, exploring or visualising data can make a difference? InfraVi's annual call is now open to researchers who want to receive support from experts in data analysis and visualisation.

InfraVis brings together over 50 experts from nine Swedish universities and offers support in advanced data analysis and visualisation. Researchers can receive support to develop methods, deepen analyses and develop new ways of visualising and communicating research results.

At Mid Sweden University, there are several people engaged in InfraVis, with expertise in data analysis, noise reduction, dimension reduction and visualization, among other things. During the autumn, Per Hemmingsson will also be present at RCR Simulation Lab as part of InfraVis' work at Mid Sweden University.

Over the years, research groups at the university have received support through InfraVis in work where visualisation and analysis of complex data have been central. Kajsa Falasca, Associate Professor of Media and Communication at KKI, explains how the support has led to new discoveries:

"By enabling us to interactively explore narrative, engagement and communication patterns, the InfraVis tool became an important part of the analysis process and contributed directly to the study's results.

InfraVis provides support in three levels: helpdesk, intermediate level and advanced. This year's call for in-depth projects is now open. The call is aimed at researchers who work with different types of data, such as text, networks, surveys, simulations, sensor data and large amounts of data. The support is given in close collaboration with the researcher and can include both intermediate level and more extensive initiatives.

More information

This year's call is open from 1 to 31 October 2026. A limited number of projects can receive full or partial subsidised support. It is also possible to contact InfraVis in advance to discuss a project idea.
