Electronic Signatures as the Primary Option at Mid Sweden University
Mid Sweden University has adopted new guidelines for electronic signing and the verification of electronic signatures.
The purpose is to create clearer and more consistent ways of working while reducing unnecessary administration. Electronic signing is now the primary option whenever a signature is required. Paper signatures should only be used when there are special reasons to do so.
The guidelines clarify, among other things:
- when signing is required and when it can be avoided,
- which signing services should be used,
- when electronic signatures need to be verified,
- how electronically signed documents should be handled and preserved.
Support and Guidance
To support the implementation, the following resources are available:
- Guidelines for Electronic Signing and Verification of Electronic Signatures
- Quick Reference Guide for Electronic Signatures (PDF)
- Infocaption Guide about Electronic Signatures
The Quick Reference Guide and the Infocaption Guide contain the same core information about signing services, verification of electronic signatures, and the handling of electronically signed documents. The Infocaption Guide also includes practical step-by-step instructions.
