It’s finally here – the highly anticipated transcription service many of our researchers have been waiting for!
Sunet Scribe is now available to employees at Mid Sweden University. This secure and user-friendly speech-to-text service from SUNET automatically transcribes audio and video into text – ideal for interviews and other research material.
Specifically developed for universities and higher education institutions, the service processes data securely within the Swedish national research and education infrastructure. All data processing takes place in SUNET’s data centres in Sweden, with no transfer to external cloud services. The system has undergone a GDPR impact assessment, information classification and risk assessment, and has been approved for use in research contexts.
Sunet Scribe:
- supports multiple languages and includes speaker identification
- allows export to various text and subtitle formats
- is accessible via a web interface
- is also used to generate captions for media in our platform MiunPlay
- is protected by a personal encryption key, ensuring that only the user can access their audio and text files
- stores transcriptions for 14 days, retrievable using the personal encryption key
During the implementation phase, the service is funded centrally by the university.
