In May, student teachers and researchers from Mid Sweden University, Queen Maud University and Nord University participated in a network meeting within the Interreg project Teachers Without Borders. The aim is to build relationships between the students and together discuss issues such as teacher shortages, recruitment and how more teachers should want to stay in the region.

The meeting is part of a larger collaboration in the so-called Nordic Green Belt – Trøndelag, Jämtland/Härjedalen and Västernorrland – where the focus is on both network building and joint research.

"The network is an important part of the project. Student teachers are crucial for the future of the teaching profession and their voices need to be heard," says Lena Boström, Professor of Education at Mid Sweden University (PPS) and project manager for Teachers Without Borders.
