Yes, you should pay more attention!

  • Be careful which links you click on. Check both who sent the link and where it leads without clicking on it (you can do this on a computer by hovering over the link, then you will see in the bottom left of the screen where the link leads).
  • Do not reply to emails where you are asked by the sender to provide information in any way.
  • If you have received a suspicious email, please forward it to itsupport@miun.se
  • If you are contacted by the threat actor directly, or via a third party (the organization that carried out a hacker attack against Canvas), the Police urge us not to respond. However, you should email itsupport@miun.se and report this.

About phishing or phishing
Sending out emails with requests and/or links is a common way for fraudsters to try to get hold of information, passwords, bank and card details. The message may appear to be from a bank or some other well-known organization.

The answer is yes.
You can access Canvas as usual when it is open. You can access your course rooms and submit your assignments.

Your teacher will help you with how to access any content, such as videos, that is temporarily not accessible in the same way as usual.

No! Mid Sweden University has a login with so-called SSO (single sign-on) which means that your password is secure. So don't change your password. Remember to never share your passwords with anyone!

During the breach, a large international hacker group obtained personal data such as names, email addresses and the content of private messages. Exact information beyond this is not available at present.
