International visit provides new perspectives on sustainable development

During the week, students and researchers at Mid Sweden University have been able to take part in knowledge and experiences from India.

Professor Mukesh Kanaskar from the All India Institute for Local Self-Government in Pune visited the university for workshops, student meetings and research collaborations.

During the visit, Mukesh Kanaskar held a workshop for students in the master's programme in Risk, Resilience and Working Life and later met students studying risk and crisis management. The focus has been on capacity building for climate work and sustainable development, including innovation and methods for planning and evaluating development efforts.

During the visit, Mukesh Kanaskar has also met with researchers and teachers in sociology, social work and other subjects to discuss research and possible future collaborations.

Mukesh Kanaskar has extensive experience in development work and action research, especially with people in vulnerable groups. He has carried out skills development for more than 3,000 young people and professionals in India, Sweden and Germany, among other countries.

After the visit to Mid Sweden University, he continued his journey to other universities in Sweden.
