New project aims to increase the chances of Miun researches getting published

Fri 06 Jan 2023 13:16

This spring, the second workshop in a series will be offered, focusing on increasing your chances of getting published internationally. The workshop is for those of you who would like practical support before you get published.

Volker Mauerhofer, Professor at EHB, and Felix Dobslaw, Research leader at DSV, together run the ALP project with the working title ”Publish or Perish”. The title, which may feel a little harsh, is really about the importance of being published, and the project should provide an answer to the question how to accomplish that.

–We hope to increase knowledge about the best way to write abstracts for scientific journals and conferences, how to choose suitable journals and how to best manoeuvre through the review process before publication, says Volker Mauerhofer.

This second full-day workshop is offered in Sundsvall this spring. Thereafter, the workshop will be offered again, once per semester, every other time in Östersund and in Sundsvall. A total of seven workshops will be conducted. The number of participants is limited at each workshop, so that every researcher can receive individual support based on their own challenges and research areas.

– We turn to researchers early in their careers, primarily doctoral students. You should have an ongoing abstract in progress that we can work with during the day, so that you get as relevant support as possible to move forward in your process, says Felix Dobslaw.

Upcoming workshops

  • March 2, in Sundsvall
  • October 3, in Östersund

More information on how to register will come later, but if you have questions, you are welcome to contact Volker Mauerhofer or Felix Dobslaw.
