On August 17, the Security Police raised the terrorism threat level in Sweden to a high threat. That corresponds to a four on a five-point scale. The Security Police assess that the threat will persist for a longer period of time. The decision to raise the terrorism threat level does not depend on any single incident but must be seen in a long-term perspective. The fact that the Security Police has raised the terrorism threat level does not mean that you should stop doing the things you normally do in everyday life. However, it is good to be more observant.

The Central Crisis Group maintains a continuous dialogue and the security issue will be discussed at the Central Cooperation Group's (CSG) next meeting. There is also dialogue between the universities in the country.
