The Annual Meeting of the Master in Emotion Psychology is an annual conference organized within the framework of the Master's Programme in Emotion Psychology at Mid Sweden University.

"For programme students, it is a compulsory part of the programme. But the conference is open to everyone and we are pleased that so many chose to participate," says Monique Pfaltz, Professor of Psychology, who arranged the conference together with Billy Jansson.

The centerpiece of the conference was the four invited speakers and their lectures:

  • Enlightening the brain: Functional near-infrared spectroscopy as a useful tool for emotion research?
    • Michael Plichta, psychologist and professor of experimental psychiatry. Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
  • Patterns in emotion: Navigating complex findings through review and meta-analytic insights on alexithymia and interoception
    • Julia Ditzer, PhD student at the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at Technische Universität Dresden, Germany.
  • Emotional responses to loved familiar faces: from basic research to clinical implications
    • Pedro Guerra, Associate Professor in the Department of Personality, Assessment and Psychological Treatment at the University of Granada, Spain.
  • A new but classical psychophysiological approach to the study of mirth
    • Elisabeth Ruiz Padial, Professor at the Department of Psychology at the University of Jaén, Spain.
