Organisation and governing documents
The work of a European University such as ChallengeEU is governed by a few governing documents. ChallengeEU has an organisational model for both structure and implementation. Mid Sweden University has chosen to clarify what it means in our activities in a so-called organisational and working model.
What to do: Grant Agreement
The collaboration within the European University is described in a so-called Grant Agreement. That document is an agreement between the partner universities within ChallengeEU as well as between the European University and the European Commission regarding what we have agreed that ChallengeEU should do, how the work should be done and what budget we have for that work. The Grant Agreement will therefore be the most central steering document in the work.
However, the Grant Agreement is a comprehensive document, so to simplify the understanding of how the work should be done, we have translated it into our local environment. We call this translation our organizational and working model.
Who does what: Implementation Office
A central part of the organisational and working model is the Implementation Office, which coordinates the University's work in the alliance. The Implementation Office is led by the project manager for our participation in ChallengeEU and is responsible for planning, follow-up, communication and dissemination of activities and results linked to ChallengeEU. The Implementation Office includes people and functions from different parts of the university, including the International Relations Office (IRO), the Grants and Innovation Office (GIO), Lifelong Learning, Pedagogical Development, the Division of Communications (KOM), the Finance Division (EKO), the Equal Opportunities Representative, and the respective faculty.
How we do it: Organization and working model
The organisation and working model also clarifies what budget from external parties (EU and UHR) we have available, and how that money can and may be used.
Finally, the document shows how Mid Sweden University has chosen to staff ChallengeEU's various governing bodies. The goal is to create opportunities to integrate the work of the European University with existing functions in our own organization as far as possible.
The organisational and working model applies from 2025 to 2028 and is reviewed annually.
