Microsoft Workplace Discount Program
Microsoft's workplace discount program, often referred to as the "Home Use Program" (HUP), offers employees discounted rates on Microsoft 365 and other Microsoft products. The program allows employees to use the university's licenses for personal use at home at a reduced price.
The agreement we have with Microsoft gives staff employees at Mid Sweden University the right to purchase an annual subscription to Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Personal at a discounted price for use on their personal and private devices. The price is paid for by each one privately. No support from Mid Sweden University's IT Helpdesk is provided for this installation. When a new version of Office arrives, a new download is required and then a new fee is charged. The old installation must then be uninstalled.
Follow the instructions below to download Office
Microsoft 365 Family subscription allows you to share it with up to five additional people in your household (6 users in total). Each person in the household can install on all their devices, including PCs, Macs, iPads, Android and Windows tablets, and iPhone or Android phones, get an additional 1 TB of OneDrive storage, and manage their own installations through https://account.microsoft.com/services/.
Microsoft 365 Family subscriptions can be used by members of the same household as you.
Microsoft 365 Personal may only be used by the employee.
The Microsoft 365 license that was assigned to you by your employer may only be used by you. This is true whether you're using Microsoft 365 from a device in your home or on an employer-provided device. However, your family can use Microsoft 365 Family if you purchased the subscription yourself through Microsoft's workplace discount program.
You may continue to use the software for as long as you are employed and even after your employment ends, as long as your Microsoft account is active and you are using recurring billing for your subscription.
Please note that this is not a purchase of a private license, but a service to simplify installation in your personal home computer. The license is always part of the university's agreement with Microsoft.
Please note that some product and language versions may not be available when you place your order. For up-to-date information on software availability under the Microsoft Workplace Discount Program, see http://microsoft.com/licensing.
