Nextcloud guide

Install Nextcloud

• Open the Software Center app
• Search for Nextcloud
• Click Nextcloud and then Install
• When the installation is complete, start Nextcloud
• Log in to Nextcloud
• Enter the server address: https://valvet.miun.se and click Next

Your browser opens to log in.

Using Nextcloud

A new Nextcloud folder is available in Windows Explorer (for Mac users in the Finder).

Important about End-to-end Encryption (E2EE)

The Nextcloud service is secure and always communicates with encrypted traffic between server and client on the computer, but you can also encrypt the information stored on the server with so-called End-to-end Encryption (E2EE).

Keep in mind that encryption of information on the server (E2EE) requires that you keep track of a private key, if you lose it, the information is lost. If you choose to use E2EE, you should also keep in mind that it is slower to handle the information, therefore you should limit yourself to using E2EE on a smaller amount of information.
