Assessment of completed courses in teaching and learning in higher education
In order to get an individual assessment of your qualifications in higher education pedagogy, there is an evaluation process to go through. Below you will find the instructions.
The Division of Research and Educational Support has created a process so that teachers should easily be able to have their qualifications in higher education pedagogy assessed in relation to either the entry requirements for applying for teacher accreditation, or to become qualified as a university teacher following the national recommendations (SUHF 2016:1). If the reason for assessing your qualifications concerns an application for a job or promotion, please contact your faculty´s board of employment.
Assessment process
If you want to have your qualifications in higher education pedagogy assessed in order to apply for teacher accreditation or to have an individual recommendation of what courses to take in order to become qualified as a university teacher, the process is divided into two steps. Observe that you send your documentation to different generic mail addresses depending on whether you are to apply for teacher accreditation or want to be recommended what courses to take in order to become qualified as a university teacher:
1. Self-evaluation. Use the self-evaluation matrix in order to compare the learning outcomes of the courses you want to have assessed with the national learning outcomes recommended by SUHF (2016:1). If the result shows that you can be given credit for at least 3 course credits, you can apply for a formal assessment of your qualifications in higher education pedagogy.
e2. Application. Fill in the application form and attach course certificates and course syllabi for the courses you refer to. Send this in an e-mail to pedagogiskmeritering@miun.se. If you want to apply for teacher accreditation. If you are interested in having a recommendation regarding what courses to take in order to be qualified as a university teacher, send your documentation to PUkontakt@miun.se instead. The assessment will show both how many course credits your courses are equivalent to and what courses in teaching and learning in higher education that you are recommended to take.
