New as a teacher
The course New as a teacher will get you acquainted with higher education and what the teacher assignment can look like in your and other subjects. You will get help to get started teaching and have the opportunity to build up a network of other participants where you can support each other.
Purpose
The aim of the course is to make it easier for new teachers to get started with teaching.
Learning outcomes
During the course, the course participant has the opportunity to develop:
- Knowledge of the teacher’s role and practice
- Understanding of basic pedagogical concepts and practice
- Knowledge of basic regulations and policies
- Understanding of the prerequisites for teaching in higher education
- Ability to plan and implement teaching

Form of study and working method
Briefings, discussions, and exercises as well as an individual work presented to the group and discussed.
Course requirements
Language
The course is given in Swedish or, if necessary, in English.
Course period
The course is undergoing an update and will be offered in 2026.
