Title: We are living in an icehouse
We are living in an unusual state in Earth's history – an icehouse, where permanent ice exists at both poles. But the icehouse is warming, and Antarctica plays a crucial role in what happens next. In this lecture, Katrin Lindbäck takes us on a journey from Earth's deep geological past to the melting of ice shelves in East Antarctica – and onward toward the future. What does the ice tell us about our planet? And what happens when it melts from below?
