Doctoral Supervisor Training, Step 2
It is now time to once again offer Doctoral Supervisor Training, Step 2 at the faculty of human sciences.
The course is aimed at active supervisors who have completed the introductory supervisor training and who wish to further develop their supervisory practice.
The course will be led by Tomas Grysell and will be conducted in Swedish or English, depending on the language preferences of the registered participants. The morning session will focus on the structures and conditions shaping third-cycle education and how these affect the supervisory role. In the afternoon, the focus will be on communication and interaction with doctoral students, with examples drawn from participants’ own third-cycle education practice.
Tomas Grysell is affiliated with the unit for teaching and learning in higher education PIL (Pedagogical Development & Interactive Learning) at the University of Gothenburg. He has extensive experience in the development of doctoral supervisors and has worked in this field since 2002, first at Umeå University, then at Uppsala University, and since 2012 at the University of Gothenburg.
