ALP ‑ Funding
General university project resources (ALP), - project model and form of financing in order to take advantage of good strategic development ideas at Mid Sweden University.
Background
In 2018, it was decided to establish general HEI project funds (ALP). The purpose of the ALP funds was to stimulate Mid Sweden University's development through innovative projects that could act as pilots or preliminary studies for a wider use within the university.
Between 2018 and 2026, 5 calls for proposals were launched and 40 projects were awarded funding. The ALP funds could be applied for projects concerning research, education, collaboration or administration. The funds have been applied for by all organizational parts of the university. The criteria for projects to be awarded were that they:
- In the long run, it would benefit the entire university.
- was not naturally financed by research, education or administration in ordinary activities.
- were relatively extensive (projects were expected to amount to between SEK 250 000 and SEK 1 million, spread over 1-2 years).
Decision
A portfolio management group consisting of university strategist (chairman), vice-chancellor, pro-vice-chancellor, vice-chancellor of professional education, and a representative from each student union assessed the applications received. The final decision was then taken by the university strategist.
Reports
All projects that have been awarded funding have been expected to deliver final reports that can be found in Mid Sweden University's registration office. For the last call 2024, final reports will be delivered in early 2027.
