London has inspired many composers throughout history, and this program brings together works written in the city with genuinely British voices such as Alan Rawsthorne and Benjamin Britten. We also hear music by Mozart and Haydn that are inspired by the British.

The summer of 1994. The men's football World Cup. The heat trembles, the cheers echo and the whole of Sweden holds its breath. On big screens, we follow the national team's path to bronze – but at the same time, other, equally important matches in people's lives are decided. This is the story of the summer that made Sweden believe again.

This concert unites personal voices in a Nordic expression. We will hear Jean Sibelius Kuolema: Valse triste, op.44, no.1, Carl Nielsen's Clarinet Concerto and a world premiere of Daniel Nelson's Concerto for Orchestra. It will be music with roots in man, nature and the present.

Núx is the ancient Greek word for "night," while brúx derives from the root for teeth grinding. Together, they form Núx brúx, a poetic description of nocturnal teeth grinding, a body that refuses to rest, a friction that continues through the darkness.

In Vive la France, Maurice Ravel takes centre stage with Le Tombeau de Couperin, Tzigane and Ma Mère (arr. Iain Farrington), in dialogue with Kaija Saariaho's Vers toi qui es si loin and Caroline Shaw's Entr'Acte. The programme moves between French elegance, richness of sound and rhythmic energy.

A Christmas concert about snow, time and tradition. When Kajsa Balto meets the Nordic Chamber Orchestra, it is a Christmas concert that contains both tradition and renewal.
