The award will be presented in conjunction with the Academic Ceremony in Östersund on 6 October. 10.00-12.00 they lecture in room F229.

When Fredrik Wikingsson now comes to campus in the old A4 area, it will not be the first time he has been here. Here he did his military service, and here he could have lived a few years later.

"The big sliding doors scenario of my life is that I almost ended up at Östersunds-Posten when I was going to do an internship during my time at Mid Sweden University. If I had done that, I would probably have stayed in the city because I have such a romanticized and naïve image of what people in Stockholm call 'fresh air'," he says.

As a journalist, author and presenter, Fredrik Wikingsson is today one of the country's best-known media profiles. Together with his colleague Filip Hammar, he is the founder of the production company Nexiko. Excuse the Mess (We Rebuild), High Chaparral and Who Can Beat Filip & Fredrik are some of the shows he is best known for.

"The key is not to stress"

Ida Leidermark holds a bachelor's and master's degree with a major in environmental science from Mid Sweden University. Today, she is the project manager for the Sustainability Inquiry at Region Jämtland Härjedalen. Together with a colleague, she has developed a checklist for systematic assessment of health centres from a climate adaptation perspective – a checklist that simplifies climate adaptation work for civil servants and is now spreading between the country's municipalities, regions and county administrative boards.

Ida herself says that she was surprised by the appointment but also touched by all the nice words. She has a message for all students who are about to enter working life:

"Everything takes longer than you think and you have to be a little patient. The key is not to stress about it being too much sometimes and to be kind to yourself. Also bear in mind that you as a new graduate have things to bring to the table when you enter working life, but also that it may be time to show some humility in the face of the experience that has already been gained.
