The Mental Health First Aid course teaches how to receive and acknowledge information of various forms of mental illness and how to encourage those in need to seek appropriate psychiatric help.

A woman supports a man with mental health problems.

An estimated 20–40% of the population suffers from some form of mental health issues, ranging from mild worry and anxiety to more serious mental illnesses. Early intervention is very important.

This course provides knowledge on how to recognize and intervene in crises such as self-injury, suicide proximity, panic attacks, trauma and acute psychotic state.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is not about making diagnoses but about increasing knowledge and understanding. The training materials and course are provided by Karolinska Institutet/NASP (National Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention). The training lasts 14 hours, and upon completion, participants receive a certificate showing that they have completed the training as a first aider.
The online course is divided over two days and is held in zoom.

Last date for registration is February 20!

Course dates: February 24, part 1 and February 26, part 2, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
