If you receive student loan from CSN
If you or your child become ill so that you cannot study, you may be entitled to sickness benefit. Your student aid may also be affected.
It is important that you contact the Swedish Social Insurance Agency if you become ill. They have important information for those who become ill or need to care for sick children and cannot study in the meantime. In the event of illness, you must report illness to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency on the first day of illness. You can do this on the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's website
If you are studying with student aid, it is important that you also find out what applies to CSN because sick leave can affect your student aid.
It makes it easier in case of problems with CSN if you have documented periods of illness. It is good if the disease is documented by a doctor if it becomes long-lasting.
Please notify the person responsible for your education of your sick leave. In case you need to take a longer break or interrupt your studies.

If you are an exchange student and need to contact the Healtcare center
The healthcare centre is always open during the day from Monday to Friday. Some healthcare centres may also be open at other times. You usually need to make an appointment before you come.
When should I contact them?
If you need to see a doctor and it is not an emergency, you should first try to book an appointment at a healthcare centre. Start by calling them to check if they can schedule an appointment for you.
If you have a chronic illness and need to refill your medication, you must book an appointment with a doctor at the healthcare centre. You can pick up your medicine at one of the nearby pharmacies.
How do I contact them?
Contact the healthcare centre closest to where you live.
If you study in Sundsvall there are two health centres depending on whether you live in Nacksta or near campus:
• St Olof Vårdcentral in Nacksta, 060-750 14 40
• Hälsocentralen Centrum, 060-18 24 10
If you study in Östersund and live at the camping site, your nearest healthcare centre is Odensala hälsocentral, 063-14 22 00
When you call a healthcare centre, you will first hear an automated voice asking you to enter your Swedish personal identity number. Since you don’t have one, you can either press # or wait until the voice prompts you to enter your phone number. If you don’t have a Swedish mobile subscription, remember to include your country code first.
The system will then suggest a time for when a nurse will call you back, and you confirm if the time works for you.
When the nurse calls you, explain what you need help with, and they will schedule an appointment for you to visit the healthcare centre.
For your visit, it is important to bring:
• Your passport for identification, as you do not have a Swedish personal identity number
• Your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
