Inclusion support and support for participants with fewer opportunities
There is extra funding available for students with fewer opportunities; this incudes students with underage children and students with disabilities.
Support for students with disabilities and students with children
Students with fewer opportunities who go on Erasmus+ exchange can receive special support during their exchange studies. For Erasmus+ exchanges, inclusion support is available to cover actual costs incurred by a participant with fewer opportunities. Inclusion support covers both students and staff in all groups with fewer opportunities. The concept of "fewer opportunities" refers to factors that may hinder participation in an Erasmus activity, such as:
-Disability
-Limited qualifications
-Restrictions in the education system
-Cultural and linguistic factors
-Social and economic factors
-Discrimination
-Geographical factors
Examples of costs could be: Adapted accommodation, cost of accompanying assistant, childcare, transportation of equipment/medicines, preparatory visits for the participant, etc.
Inclusion support for students with disabilities
Support that you already have through Mid Sweden University may be possible to keep having online during your studies abroad, such as mentoring support. First, contact the coordinator for students with disabilities at Mid Sweden University if you are considering exchange studies, so that you together with them, your program and IRO can discuss suitable partner universities.
Students with permanent or long-term disabilities, including disabilities caused by physical, mental or neuropsychiatric illness, are entitled to a specific inclusion allowance for Erasmus+ exchange studies and traineeships. The grant applies to participants with a long-term disability or illness. Financial support can be granted for example for note-taking support, sign language interpretation, psychotherapy, transport to the university/traineeship place/social activities, higher cost for adapted accommodation or accommodation university/traineeship place, reconnaissance trip with assistant, and check-in of extra luggage for equipment.
