Photojournalism

Photojournalism is the journalistic knowledge of producing images and videos that convey and document news and social events. You will learn how to visually tell stories to convey messages with the help of pictures and videos. The visual images are also combined with texts and audio in order to enlighten, critically examine and analyse society. You will also learn how to analytically and critically examine your own and others' production of photojournalism. Photojournalism is mainly focused on journalistic news reporting, documentation and description of society, where the image's topicality, objectivity, news value and information value are at the center.

Mid Sweden University currently offers distance courses as well as courses at bachelor's level within the journalism program in the subject of photojournalism.
