Close to 80 Leading Academics from around 50 institutions all over Europe will participate in the unique collaboration that will result in a comprehensive report 18 days after the European Parliament elections.

− A report like this one has never been published before, but we feel researchers need to make themselves heard in the public opinion to a larger extent, to provide the public with a quick, objective analysis of the political situation and of the election results. We published a similar report by Swedish researchers in the context of the Swedish elections last autumn, and it was highly appreciated, says Kajsa Falasca, Assistant Professor in Media and Communication at Mid Sweden University.

Eighteen days after the elections, Euroflections will publish a free, comprehensive report including results, analyses and reflections available for download. Each researcher contributes with an analysis, looking into the campaigns, the political parties, the voters and the media.

− The European Parliament elections are often considered to be of less importance, although the EU has a great impact on our everyday lives. We hope that Euroflections will be our contribution to an increased interest in and knowledge about the EU. In addition, a central feature of this report is that the texts are easy accessible and free from academic jargon, in order to also reach readers from outside the academia, says Niklas Bolin, Associate Professor in Political Science at Mid Sweden University.

The final report, Euroflections - Leading Academics on the European elections 2019, will be presented at a seminar in Stockholm on 13 June, and it will also be available for download.

Euroflections - Leading Academics on the European elections 2019 is published by the Mid Sweden University research centre DEMICOM, and the editors are:
Lars Nord - Professor of Political Communication
Marie Grusell - Associate Professor in Media and Communication
Niklas Bolin - Associate Professor in Political Science
Kajsa Falasca – Assistant Professor in Media and Communication
