Pris till Christine Großes avhandling
2021 års ScAIEM thesis award går till Christine Große för avhandlingen "Towards Systemic Governance of Critical Infrastructure Protection : State and Relevance of a Swedish Case".
Christine Große disputerade i data- och systemvetenskap i september 2020 med avhandlingen som nu tilldelats ScAIEM (Scandinavian Academy of Industrial Engineering and Management) thesis award 2021. I motiveringen lyfts bland annat att avhandlingen håller hög kvalitet och behandlar ett mycket relevant ämne - kritisk infrastruktur. ScAIEM menar också att Christines avhandling balanserar väl mellan akademiska och samhällsperspektiv och bidrar till teoriutveckling såväl som utveckling av praktik.
Motivering:
"Christine’s doctoral thesis is an example of high-quality research focusing on a very interesting and highly relevant topic, that is Critical infrastructure protection (CIP), one of the greatest concerns in modern societies. In particular, the thesis contributes to the understanding of the mechanisms of large-scale, interdependent infrastructure systems and the governance efforts to enhance societal resilience. Christine’s dissertation focussed on decision-making in multi-level governance networks that aim to govern a complex, socio-technical system-of-systems. It brings forth a holistic system perspective that acknowledges the inherent multi-level character of the critical infrastructure system, including its protection and governance.
The thesis presents a good balance between academic and societal impact, providing both contributions to theory development and to practice development. The empirical work is also very interesting and has been carried out in a complex stakeholder environment. The thesis also offers an example of systemic approach and of the value of combining perspectives and areas of knowledge. Moreover, the thesis is well-written and the communicative effort is supported in a commendable way by different kinds of illustrations, figures and tables. Finally, there is a wellbalanced mix of publications attached to the thesis, including an article in a well-recognized journal, one article in a good journal and a range of conference papers that provide good exposure to communicate research results and further develop the research project."
Syftet med priset är att uppmuntra till högkvalitativ forskning som visar både djup och bredd inom ämnet Industriell organisation och ekonomi. Forskningen ska dessutom visa på relevans, originalitet, kreativitet, och samverkan inom och utanför akademin.
