Working group: Competence Enhancement
The CER network's working group for competence enhancement was formed at the turn of the year 2023/2024 and partly constitutes a merger of the two previous working groups for potential and existing employees. Below you will find more information about this working group and the activities carried out.

Vision
Inspire students, teachers/researchers, as well as leaders and employees of CER members to develop and drive development.
Commission
- Attract motivated students to the economics programme at Mid Sweden University, stimulate them through various activities to complete the education in the intended time and with good results, and make them interested in driving development.
- Stimulate teachers/researchers as well as leaders and employees of CER members to meet the high expectations of motivated students.
- Provide opportunities for personal and organizational development and create incentives for leaders and employees of CER members to become good ambassadors for CER, the Master of Science in Business and Economics education.
- Create opportunities for leaders and employees of CER members to take part in research results and exchange practical experiences.
Target groups
- Prospective and current students of the MSc in Business and Economics and Business Administration, including board members and members of Sundekon.
- Alumni and parents of prospective and current students.
- Leaders and employees of CER members.
Objectives and overall activities
- A responsible coordinator from CER will hold the working group together.
- An annual cycle should show goals/activities and appointed managers.
- Students, teachers and business representatives must visit all upper secondary schools (with economics programmes) in Västernorrland and Hälsingland every academic year.
- Double the number of first-choice applicants to the business and economics programme compared to autumn 2023 (autumn 2026).
- Increased merit points to 17 (grades) and 1.2 (Scholastic Aptitude Test) compared to 2023 (14.7 and 0.3 respectively) (autumn 2026).
- 60% of students in each year will be in phase educationally compared to autumn 2023 (30%) (autumn 2025).
- 60% of students in each year must participate in at least two business activities per year (autumn 2025).
- All companies/organizations in the working group for competence enhancement must participate in the course Internship 7.5 credits and offer a challenging task for each student group during the 5 course weeks (spring 2025).
- Scholarship award (CER medal) to the top student(s) in the Master of Science in Business and Economics and/or Business Administration (on the CER day).
- Arrange and carry out two annual and credit-bearing courses for leaders and employees of CER members (autumn 2025).
- Plan and carry out an annual physical meeting for leaders and employees of CER members in the evening for 250 participants.
- Plan and implement three annual webinars for leaders and employees of the CER members with 200 participants per occasion.
- Plan and implement four annual research forums with at least 50 participants per occasion.
- Offer leaders and employees of CER members to attend guest lectures on the economics programme (spring 2025).
