Hi, Jana Brehmer!
What is your research area?
– I am a doctoral student in tourism studies at the Center for Tourism and Leisure Research (CeTLeR) at Dalarna University in Borlänge in collaboration with Mittuniversitetet in Östersund.
I am particularly interested in researching tourism development and tourism brands of destinations, and also the context of authenticity in tourism and any contradictions that come with it. Currently, I am focusing on possible financing systems for tourist routes considering consumer behavior.
Tell us about your background
– I have a bachelor's degree from Westcoast University of Applied Science in northern Germany in International Tourism Management, and completed my master's studies in 2018 in Tourism Destination Development at Dalarna University.

– Peter Fredman at Mittuniversitetet and Tobias Heldt at Dalarna University.
Are you employed in a project?
– Yes, I am employed within a research project by CeTLer at Dalarna University called Recreational mobility and trails in mountain destinations: Understanding Behavioral insights and New technology in relation to funding systems for high quality trails in a Swedish context, and which focuses on possible funding systems of tourist routes considering consumer behaviour.
The project is a collaboration between various stakeholders in Dalarna that provide cross-country and mountain bike trails and is financed by the Swedish KK Foundation with Tobias Heldt as project manager.
