Marie Sklodowska‑Curie ‑ Postdoctoral Fellowships
The Postdoctoral Fellowship (PF) support researchers’ careers and foster excellence in research. The PF targets researchers holding a PhD who wish to carry out their research activities abroad, acquire new skills and develop their careers through international and inter-sectoral mobility.
The fellowships are one of Horizon Europe´s three pillars in Excellent science, and provides support for the researcher in form of living allowance, mobility allowance and special needs allowances, research, training, networking activities, management and indirect costs.

Fellowship types
There are 2 types of Postdoctoral Fellowships:
- European Postdoctoral Fellowships. Open to researchers moving within Europe or coming to Europe. Fellowships take place in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country, and last 1-2 years. Researchers of any nationality can apply.
- Global Postdoctoral Fellowships. Funding the mobility of researchers outside Europe. Fellowship lasts 2-3 years, of which the first 1 to 2 years are spent in a non-associated Third Country, followed by a mandatory return phase of 1 year to an organization based in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country. Only nationals or long-term residents of the EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries can apply.
Both fellowships may include short-term secondments anywhere in the world during the fellowship. Additional support of 6 months in a non academic organisation based in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country can be provided at the end of the fellowship.

Who can apply?
Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to researchers holding a PhD degree with a maximum of 8 years’ experience in research, from the date of the PhD degree, and must not have resided in the country of the beneficiary or the host organization for more than 12 months in the 36 months before the call.

How to apply
Are you a postdoc candidate who wish to apply for MSCA postdoctoral fellowship with Miun as a host organization?
Make sure that you fulfill all the criteria: A PhD degree with a maximum of 8 years’ experience from the date of the PhD degree, and have not resided in the country of the beneficiary or the host organization for more than 12 months in the 36 months before the call.
Mid Sweden University application process for MSCA PF:
- February to April: Send in your postdoc application to Mid Sweden University
- May: Interviews with candidates
- September: Selected candidate and Mid Sweeden University applies to MSCA
- March following year: Approval of application, followed by employment process.

Mid Sweden University as a host organisation
The host organization is responsible for submitting the application to MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships on behalf of the researcher. If the submitted proposal is retained for funding, the host organization oversees recruiting, supervision, and training.
Mid Sweden University offers dedicated and experienced supervisors during the program. The university has close cooperation with local, regional, and international companies, our former postdocs work all over the world.
As a host organization Miun offers courses in pedagogy, project management and support during the application process, such as seminars for writing professional research applications.
