The subject of law in Speakers Corner during Open House on campus in Ă–stersund
September 27th the sun was shining when Mid Sweden University's campus in Ă–stersund was opened to the public as part of the celebration of the university's 20th anniversary. The subject of law was represented by Ekaterina Zmyvalova and Mikael Lundholm.
The visitors were curious about both research and education and for half a day they were treated to fun happenings, study visits to the research labs, meetings and inspiration. All so that visitors could get acquainted with the university's research, education and the community that exists on campus in a playful and engaging way.
Talks and panel discussions in Speakers Corner
The program included a so-called Speakers Corner. The aim was to convey a mix of current research and educational opportunities to visitors. At Speakers Corner, the subject of law was represented by Ekaterina Zmyvalova, postdoc in Sámi law, and Mikael Lundholm, who is a senior lecturer and head of the subject of law.
Research and education on the programme
Ekaterina shared research and education in Sámi law, where she also talked about the new course on indigenous peoples' rights in international and Swedish law. The course is independent and open to anyone interested in the rights of indigenous peoples. Mikael presented the Administrative Law programme and also talked about the plans to develop a new bachelor's programme in law.
