Archive and deliver
When the preservation and deletion investigation has been completed and the archive function's assessment has been established, research data must be handled in accordance with the decision.
Archiving research data
Research data that is to be preserved must be handed over to Mid Sweden University's archives.
The University's central archive function recommends that research data that may be deleted should also be submitted to the archive.
Archiving must take place as soon as the research is completed.
If you keep research data to be deleted
If, after a review has been carried out, it has been decided that research data is to be deleted and the material is not handed over to the archive, you are responsible for ensuring that it is handled in accordance with the requirements of the archive legislation throughout the deletion period.
This means that you must, among other things:
- ensure that the material is readable and technically sustainable over time
- Store it safely as per the university's requirements
- Thinning at the right time according to the conservation and disposal investigation
- be able to handle any requests for disclosure of public documents
More information about the background to this responsibility can be found in the document Archiving of research data.
Deliver research data to the archive
Prior to delivery to Mid Sweden University's archives, you must fill in the document Delivery specification for research data.
In the delivery specification, you state, among other things:
- the type of materials supplied
- Amount of material
- if the material contains confidential information
When the delivery specification is ready, contact the archive function via the contact information on the page Archive and diary to agree on how the delivery should be carried out.
