Here we describe how accessible www.miun.se is and how we plan to address shortcomings. Here you will also find information on how to contact us if you discover shortcomings.
Mid Sweden University is behind this website. We want as many people as possible to be able to use the website.
We strive to ensure that Mid Sweden University's websites can be perceived, managed and understood by all users, regardless of disabilities, for example, and regardless of the assistive devices they use. At the very least, we shall achieve basic accessibility by complying with the DOS Act and the accessibility requirements of EN301549 and WCAG 2.1 AA.
How accessible is the website?
Most pages are accessible, but there may be a few pages where we are aware that we are currently not able to meet all the requirements for accessibility to digital public services. We try to solve the problems because and make sure you get the digital service you are entitled to.

Technical information on the accessibility of the website
This website is partially compliant with the Act on Accessibility to Digital Public Administration due to the shortcomings described below. The guideline that is being examined is WCAG 2.1 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) at level AA, which corresponds to the European standard EN 301 549 , which is the basis for those who are subject to the DOS Act (the Act on Accessibility to Digital Public Services) or LPTT (Private Sector Accessibility Directive). However, EN 301 549 contains more than WCAG 2.1, read more on Webbriktlinjer.se.

This website is partially compliant with the Act on Accessibility to Digital Public Administration due to the shortcomings described below.
Non-compliance with legal requirements
At this time, we are aware that we have not been able to meet all the criteria of WCAG 2.1 AA on all pages in the following areas:
- Heading elements are not arranged in descending order
- Some pressure areas are too small and do not have sufficient distances.
- The contrast between background color and foreground color is not large enough.
- Some links don't have a recognizable name
- Elements with visible text labels don't have matching machine-readable labels.
- Lists don't contain only '<li>' elements and supporting elements for scripts ('<script>' and '<template>').
- Not all attributes of type '[aria-*]' match the role of the element.
- Some images with meaningful content lack description.
- Some pieces of text are written in a different language than the surrounding text, but are not marked for this in code.
- Notifications for mandatory form fields that do not have text are only marked with red color.
- A number of films that need audio description lack this.
- A number of audio clips and podcasts lack transcription and audio description.
- Images in PDF documents and documents created in Microsoft Office may be missing or have incorrect text options.
- Some videos lack audio description.
- Some videos published before 23 September 2020 do not have captions.
- Some PDF documents and documents created in Microsoft Office are not properly made (tagged) to work with screen readers.
- The reading order may be incorrect in PDF documents and documents created in Microsoft Office.
- Incorrect language encoding may occur on parts of page content that differ from the main language of the page.
Movies on YouTube
We don't have any videos from YouTube uploaded to www.miun.se. However, we have linked to videos that are available on our YouTube account. We recognize that some content on YouTube isn't fully accessible, such as not all videos having caption options.

How we tested the website
We have done a self-assessment (internal testing) of miun.se. We use Webperf premium for automated testing as well as the Stark tool and PageSpeed Insights for current status. See the current status on webperf.
DIGG has made a simplified monitoring of miun.se April 2024 with points of lack of accessibility. We have used DIGG's report as a basis for implementing measures to improve the site's accessibility.
