Sociology MA, Public Policy: Theory and Practice, 7.5 Credits

This course introduces public policy as a field of study and discusses research on what governments and societal actors choose to do or not do regarding risk, resilience, and work. The course deals primarily with the social processes that render crises and working life societally governable, i.e., how knowledge, power, and political ideas materialise into public policy.

The structure of the teaching

The campus course includes several meetings where you are expected to participate on site, and some components require mandatory attendance.

The distance course requires that you have access to a computer with an internet connection. All communication takes place via the course’s online platform and meeting tools such as Zoom.

Entry requirements

A bachelor's degree of at least 180 credits in social or behavioural sciences, of whichaminimum of 60 credits in sociology. English level 2/English 6 fromSwedish Upper Secondary School (Gymnasium) or the equivalent.
