Sociology MA, Qualitative Methods, 7.5 Credits
This course provides students with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of qualitative methods in sociological research and to practice analysing qualitative data. We explore selected qualitative research methods, their theoretical foundations, and their empirical applicability. The course also critically engages with research ethics, including its theoretical and practical implications.
The structure of the teaching
The campus course includes several meetings where you are expected to participate on site, and some components require mandatory attendance.
The distance course requires that you have access to a computer with an internet connection. All communication takes place via the course’s online platform and meeting tools such as Zoom.
Entry requirements
A bachelor's degree of at least 180 credits in social or behavioural sciences, of which a minimum of 60 credits in sociology. English level 2/English course 6 from Swedish Upper Secondary School (Gymnasium) or the equivalent.
