Sociology MA, Sociology of Risk and Uncertainty, 7.5 Credits
The course deals with how risk and uncertainty are perceived, constructed, managed, communicated and/or neglected by social actors at individual, organizational and societal levels. Students explore recent developments in the field, including intersectional risk research and risk governance, and can focus on specific interests within risk and uncertainty and its empirical applications.
The structure of the teaching
The campus course includes several meetings where you are expected to participate on site, and some components require mandatory attendance.
The distance course requires that you have access to a computer with an internet connection. All communication takes place via the course’s online platform and meeting tools such as Zoom.
Entry requirements
A bachelor's degree of at least 180 credits in social or behavioural sciences, of which a minimum of 60 credits in sociology. English level 2/English course 6 from Swedish Upper Secondary School (Gymnasium) or the equivalent.
