Aim
The course is a part of the programme Master by Research, 120 credits, and it aims at planning and realizing a research project, which is later reported in written within the framework of a thesis. The aim is that the student shall develop theories and, if applicable, experiments for the project. This is to be concretized in a first version of the chapters ”Introduction” and ”Methods” in the thesis.
Course objectives
Having completed the course, the students are expected to be able to:
- independently look for and use scientific literature
- analyse and evaluate different theories and/or experimental methods for the scientific project
- report on, motivate and argue for their theory choice or experiment to solve the formulated scientific problem
- show ability to identify the need for further knowledge aquirement
Content
During the course, the student must summarize the scientific background of and choose relevant methods for the thesis project.

Chemistry MA, Project Formulation and Thesis Planning, 7.5 Credits.

The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.

R100: Report, 15 Credits
Grade scale: Seven-grade scale, A, B, C, D, E, Fx and F. Fx and F represent fail levels.
The course will be reported in a first version of the chapters ”Introduction” and ”Methods” in the thesis.
