Aim
The course aims to deepen the student’s ability to independently plan, carry out, and critically evaluate a scientific investigation within chemical engineering. By applying relevant methods for data collection and analysis, the student will develop the ability to assess the quality of results, relate them to existing research, and communicate conclusions in a scientific manner, both orally and in writing, in English.
Course objectives
Upon completion of the course the student should be able to:
- carry out a scientific investigation in the field of chemical engineering;
- use appropriate methods for data collection and analysis;
- assess the accuracy of the results, and draw conclusions from the results obtained;
- compare the results obtained with the results from previous research; and
- communicate in English, both orally and in writing, their results and arguments in a scientific manner, according to accepted and given norms.
Content
Scientific investigation in the field of chemical engineering. Data collection and analysis that is adapted to the project's research objectives. Comparison with results from previous research. Presentation of results and conclusions in English according to the given standards.

Chemical Engineering MA, Project Course in Chemical Engineering I, 15 credits.
Selection rules and procedures
The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.
Teaching form
A supervisor from a research group at the university is provided. The student books regular meetings with the supervisor (approx. 1-2 short meetings per week). At the supervisor meetings, the supervisor gives the student feedback and guidance.
Examination form
M100: Oral Presentation, 3 Credits
Grade scale: Two-grade scale
Presentation of the project in English.
P100: Project, 12 Credits
Grade scale: Three-grade scale
Implementation of a project. Reported in a written report in English.
