I am Associate Professor of Human Geography and researcher at the European Tourism Research Institute (ETOUR), Mid-Sweden University, Sweden.

My principal research interests relate to social representations of nature, human-nature interactions, access to nature, environmental justice and spatial inequalities, conflicts of interest and impacts from tourism and outdoor recreation, as well as the tourism–local communities interface and nature conservation. Lately, also on disability studies, accessible tourism and health geography and therapeutic landscapes as well as recreation ecology.

Teaching and tutoring

I supervise PhD students. I am assistant supervisor to Elena Pibernik and Michael Röslmaier at Mid Sweden university and to Nicholaus Voogt at University of Iceland. I was assistant supervisor to Axel Eriksson (doctoral degree in 2024), Jack Shepherd (doctoral degree in 2022), and Solene Prince and Lusine Margaryan (who obtained their doctoral degree in 2017). I was the principal supervisor to Kristin Godtman Kling, who defended her doctoral thesis in January of 2022.
