Background

I have worked at Mid Sweden University since January 1999, first as a lecturer in Pedagogy and then as a Phd Candidate in Education, and now as a Senior Lecturer in Education. During that time I have also had different leadership positions within the department.

Area of interest

My research interest is in the field of educational leadership, principal leadership and school improvement work. I'm also interested in principals professional learning and professional development.

Research

Today I have a small research project that focuses on principals professional learning in relation to professional development and how the principals make sense of that in relation to their every day work and leadership practices.

My doctoral thesis focussed on principals' leadership practices in beyond-school collaboration for school improvement (2019). The thesis can be downloaded here:
http://miun.diva-portal.org/smash/record.jsf?pid=diva2%3A1349418&dswid=5185

I have also written two book chapters for a coming edited book on the principal profession together with colleageus at the department of Education (PhD Marcia Håkansson Lindqvist, Lecturer Agneta Persson, and PhD Maria Styf). It will be published by Studentlitteratur atumn 2021.

Teaching and tutoring

I teach in our National School Leader Training Programme 30 credits within the School leadership module, and I have a special responsibility for group coaching.

I'm also the course leader and teach in two different CPD courses for experienced school leaders and preschool principals.

I also teach in other courses about leadership/school leadership/educational leadership; e.g. in our behavior science programme and in our master programme.
