Erika Wallin

Universitetslektor|Senior Lecturer

Background

Erika Wallin got her MSc in chemistry from Umeå University in 2008 and defended her doctoral thesis at Mid Sweden University in September 2014 titeled: The Scents of Nature: Identification and synthesis of bioactive molecules found in nature.

Area of interest

Chemical ecology with focus on identification an synthesis of natural products.

Research

Her research is based on the identification and synthesis of possible insect pheromones. She has been working with insect species such as orchid bees, African butterflies, bed bugs, thrips and fruit flies.
