Healthcare and medicines
As an employee, you are entitled to reimbursement for certain healthcare and pharmaceutical costs in accordance with the Terms and Conditions agreements and local agreements.
Healthcare
According to a local agreement, you as an employee are entitled to full reimbursement for medical care and medical treatment within the high-cost protection. The benefit is taxable.
Medical care is meant.
- examination and treatment provided in the event of illness by a person who is qualified to practice medicine in Sweden, and
- issuing a medical certificate (medical certificate) requested by the employer.
- An employee is entitled to full reimbursement according to the medical treatment tariff for oral surgical treatment performed in hospitals.
- An employee is also entitled to compensation for psychological treatment (after a referral from a doctor to a licensed psychiatrist, licensed psychologist or licensed psychotherapist) of a maximum of SEK 95 for each visit.
- Costs for physiotherapy treatment are reimbursed by the employer with a maximum of SEK 60 per visit unless the treatment is within the high-cost protection in which case it is reimbursed with the full amount.
- Hospital care is reimbursed by the employer with a maximum of SEK 70 for each day of care.
Employees who live abroad are entitled to compensation as described above, a maximum of SEK 1,100 per year.
Medicines
Costs for prescription medicines that are covered by law are covered by the high-cost protection are reimbursed by the employer. The benefit is taxable.
For expenses made from 240101, you may only claim reimbursement on one occasion per year, no later than January of the year following the calendar year in which the expenses were incurred. The costs are substantiated by attaching an extract from the eHealth Agency's Läkemedelskollen.
Employees who live abroad are entitled to compensation according to the above maximum of SEK 2200 per year.
Doctor's visit
As an employee, you have the right to take leave without salary deduction for doctor or dentist visits, etc., in the following cases:
- Visits to doctors, occupational health care, outpatient care or maternity clinics and for blood donation
- Examinations or treatments after referral by a dentist or doctor and in case of acute dental problems.
