A vulnerability has been discovered that affects most browsers, apps and operating systems. it is therefore particularly important not to postpone any updates.

Helpdesk

For some time now, a zero-day vulnerability has been found in an image library called WebP and there are indicators that it is being actively exploited. The vulnerability allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code just by making the receiver read an image file, for example by opening or preview an email, create a thumbnail, or visit a website.

WebP is used by all major browsers, all electron-based apps, all operating systems. One can almost assume that WebP is involved in all programs that handle images in some way, until proven otherwise.

Be sure to keep your programs and operating systems up to date. Right now there is not much else you can do and it is also not easy to say what is affected but assume that everything that can handle images is affected.
